NIKOLAKI
In 2001 Nick Verreos and David Paul created their clothing line NIKOLAKI after Henri Bendel purchased the collection for their Manhattan Flagship. Eventually, the line was carried in over 100 stores, including Nordstrom, Fred Segal as well as specialty boutiques all over the world, from Manhattan to Tokyo.
With every NIKOLAKI collection Nick and David like to tell a story, always portraying a powerful, elegant yet sexy woman. Known for its Couture-like quality, Grecian draping and sumptuous silk and jersey fabrications, NIKOLAKI has also had an impressive showing on the Red Carpet. Their gowns have been worn at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Grammys and SAG Awards. Beyonce, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria and Carrie Underwood have all worn NIKOLAKI.
NIKOLAKI has been featured in various publications including Women’s Wear Daily, In Style, Lucky, People, Us Weekly, GenLux, Fashion Week Daily, and California Apparel News and has been showcased in various Runway Shows around the world including Los Angeles Fashion Week, Style Week Orange County, Florence Italy, Fashion Week El Paseo and Islands of The World Fashion Week in The Bahamas among many others.
NICK VERREOS
Nick Verreos grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, and aspired to follow in his father's footsteps as a Diplomat. He later received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at UCLA to help achieve this goal. Despite his interest in international relations, Nick decided to pursue his true passion: Becoming a fashion designer, eventually earning his Advanced Fashion Design Degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM.
In 2001, he started his clothing line, NIKOLAKI, with his partner David Paul. The line has been carried in Henri Bendel, Nordstrom, Fred Segal, and over 100 boutiques worldwide. Celebrities such as Beyonce, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, and Carrie Underwood have worn their designs, and they have been shown at various world-renowned Fashion Weeks. Nick also has a secondary line, NV Nick Verreos, that has been sold at Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, and Dillard’s, as well as on QVC UK, QVC Italy, Canada’s The Shopping Channel, and ShopHQ.
Nick was the winning mentor on "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" as well as a contestant on Season 2 of “Project Runway”. Currently, Nick has been a Consulting Producer on the show for the last six seasons, where he provides invaluable fashion expertise and resources based on his 30+ years of knowledge and connections. He also enjoys great success as a red carpet fashion expert and Emmy Winning correspondent for various networks and shows including E! Entertainment, ABC's "On The Red Carpet" and KTLA’s “LIVE From The Oscars”.
Nick shares his knowledge with future fashion designers through his five books and popular YouTube channel, "Fashion School with Nick Verreos," which has over 380,000 subscribers and 14 million views from all over the world.
DAVID PAUL
A Native of Southern California, David Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from UCLA. He then went on to pursue his passion for fashion and costume design, building an impressive career in the entertainment and fashion industries for over two decades.
David designed costumes and worked on popular shows for MTV, ABC, FOX, NIKELODEON, and the WB. He has also collaborated with renowned figures like Andre Leon Talley and Lisa Love for Vogue Magazine and styled for celebrities including Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Paradis, Twiggy, and Heather Graham, among others, for famous photographers such as Arthur Elgort, Regan Cameron, Noe DeWitt, and Amanda DeCadanet. David is currently a Consulting Producer on Project Runway for the last six seasons, where he provides invaluable fashion expertise and resources based on his 30+ years of knowledge and connections.
In 2001, David and his partner Nick Verreos founded NIKOLAKI, a high-end clothing company that showcases upscale red carpet gowns and cocktail dresses worn by popular celebrities like Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, and Carrie Underwood. NIKOLAKI has been carried in over 100 stores across the US and abroad. David is also the Creative Director for the NV Nick Verreos clothing line, which is available on major Home Shopping Networks.
David served as the Co-Chair for the Fashion Design, Advanced Fashion Design, and Film & TV Costume Design Programs at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM for six years.
David is a co-author of six best-selling books, including “The Basics of Patternmaking for Fashion Design”, “The Fundamentals of Fashion Draping”, “A Passion for Fashion”, “A Comprehensive Guide to Men’s Flat Sketching”, “Do’s and Don’ts of Fashion Flat Sketching”, and “The Pageant Coloring Book”.
